LONDON CITY UPSETS ST. CATHARINES

LONDON CITY UPSETS ST. CATHARINES 4-2

London City recovered from an early 1-0 deficit to score three second half goals in a well-earned 4-2 upset over the St. Catharines Wolves at Club Roma in St. Catharines, the only game played in the Canadian Professional Soccer League Wednesday. Frank Zumpano put the home side 1-0 up after just six minutes of play, but a goal in each half by London forward Paul Munster (36 and 76 minutes), and two goals in two minutes at 48 and 49 minutes by forward Kadian Leckey, proved too much for St. Catharines.Tony Carbonaro struck the second St. Catharines goal. The win vaults London City from the foot of the Western Conference to third of six teams with a 2-1-0 WLT record and six points, one over third place St. Catharines Wolves with 5 points and a 1-2-2 record. The two teams met three times last season, to split the two games in regular league play while one cup game went to St. Catharines by a 2-1 score.Kadian Leckey was prominent with North York Astros last season and was recently transferred to London City on a loan agreement with the Toronto team.
